Paros island features so many beaches that many times our visitors don’t know where to start. Just so you know there are more than 40 of them. So, which are the best beaches in Paros ?

After a research, we present to you 7 best beaches in Paros. If you have your own mean of transport like car or scooter, it will be easier for you to reach them. Speed also plays a role. With a car you will be able to visit two beaches in one day.

Santa Maria & Small Santa Maria

You might not know that, but there are two Santa Maria in Paros. You probably heard about the first one, as it is one of the most popular Paros beaches. The second, called Small Santa Maria is in our opinion, one of the most beautiful on our island.

Santa Maria, the main one, is situated on the northeast coast of Paros, about 4 km away from the famous Naoussa village. It consists of golden and powdery sand and crystal sea. As it is one of the most popular beaches in Cyclades, its infrastructure is quite developed. It features sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a beach bar where you can enjoy your coffee or other beverage accompanied by relaxing music. On Santa Maria beach you will also find a restaurant. It is a wonderful experience to have lunch here after swim, next to the sea and with Naxos island for a view. There is also a water sport center where you can participate in interesting activities. Windsurfing is the most famous in Paros. Here you can rent equipment and take lessons, provided by professional trainers.  

Small Santa Maria is located about 1 km to the north of the main Santa Maria beach. It is divided to two parts: organized and unspoiled. The organized part features sunbeds and umbrellas. You can order here a beverage or lunch. Small Santa Maria consists of powdery sand and, almost always calm sea. There is also a small water sport center. The unspoiled part of the beach is for those two like to lie down on the sand hear only the sounds of waves. Serenity and quiet is the main scenery here.

You can easily walk from the organized part of Small Santa Maria to the unspoiled one.

Marcello & Krios

Those two beaches go hand to hand due to their location. They share the same sandy beach line in Parikia Bay. There are two ways to reach Marcello and Krios. The first one is by land and you will need your own mean of transport. The second is by sea, using caique boat form Parikia port. Caique are traditional fishing boats, modified to transfer people. There are regular schedules towards Krios but, when you reach it you will have to walk for few minutes.

Both beaches consist of sand and offer Parikia village, the capital of Paros, for a view. You will also enjoy ships arriving entering the bay and arriving on our island. On Marcello and Krios, there is a beach bar on each, along with umbrellas and sunbeds. You can take under your consideration that the number of umbrellas doesn’t cover all visitor of both beaches. Due to popularity Marcello and Krios attract visitors from all over Paros. Therefore, if you don’t get there early, you might not find free sunbed. There is a lot of space on both beaches which is not organized. You might find a spot under one of the few trees which offer a natural shade. Yet, if you have your own beach umbrella, you should take it with you.

The distance of Marcello and Krios from Parikia is about 3 km.

Molos Beach

This is an area protected by Natura 2000 legislation. It features amazing beach, which is the third longest in Paros. It consists of sand and shallow water. Due to this fact, Molos beach is quite popular for families. Children can play safe in the sand here. Because it is protected in a bay, most of the time it does not have waves. During summer days with north wind, you can find a spot in north part of the beach. It will not have waves at all. Molos beach is not organized. There is only a small water sport center, where you can learn windsurfing. Therefore, if you have your own beach umbrella, we suggest you take it with you. As the closest shop is in Marmara village, about 2 km away, you should have some supplies. Water and snacks is “a must”. From the beach, you should see Kefalos hill with a small chapel on the top. It is worth knowing that you can get there by car. The view from up there is spectacular. Few hundred meters from the south part of Molos there is Kalogeros beach. It is known for its clay and its therapeutic properties for skin. Kalogeros is also unspoiled without any infrastructure.

To reach Molos beach comfortably, you will need a car or a scooter. That is because the bus stops in Marmara village and from there, you will have to walk. Molos is situated on the east cost of Paros, 17 km away from Parikia and 12 km away from Naoussa. Definitely worth a visit!        

Golden Beach

Golden beach is also one of the most well-known beaches in Paros. It is located 16 km away from Naoussa and 20 km away from Parikia, on the southeast coast of the island. As its tourism infrastructure is well developed, you will find pretty much everything here. Sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars, restaurant and water sport center. Golden Beach, like its name indicates, consists of golden sand. The sea here is crystal and in the summer, it rarely has waves. As this sandy paradise is one of the longest beaches in Paros, you will not find trouble finding a spot. As Golden beach is “looking” towards the south, you will see as far as Ios island, when visibility is good. Bus stop is on the main road. Therefore, if you don’t have a car or a scooter, you will have to walk for about 5 minutes.
